Pieces of My World

Hey All!

It’s been a minute, but I have a whole lot to let you in on!

I Got My Certificate!

This past weekend, I completed my year long certificate program. It is a Narrative Focused Trauma training through the Allender Center and the Seattle School. I had been encouraged by my beloved therapist to check it out last year and it was a “yes” for me! This training proved to be one of the most personally challenging journeys I’ve gone on yet. And as it usually happens, also one of the most gratifying. I dove deep into particulars of my story in new ways. I gained insight and understanding for myself and humanity.

I desire to bring what I discovered into my storytelling here at Mosaic People and anticipate how opportunities might present themselves to utilize the tools I’ve gained. I believe it’s always a good thing when we invest in ourselves. When we do, we also invest in the people we love and the bigger world around us. I’m thankful I had the opportunity to engage in 4 intensive weekends this year with fellow life travelers, diving into one another’s stories. I also read more books than I ever have in my life and now have an appetite for more.

New Piece: “My Whole World

This year on my birthday, I had the privilege of delivering a Mosaic People commission piece for a private gallery, co-created with our Italian team. It was an honor to create this special piece. It’s celebrating the beautiful bond of a mother and her only daughter and the daughter’s firstborn little girl.

The piece is entitled “My Whole World,” a phrase often used by the new Grandmother (Gigi) to express her love for her daughter and granddaughter. We chose to express this story in the Old World style, using a vast array of chunky cut Italian smalti for this stunning photorealistic work. The legacy of daughters is a story told in families around the world, in their own special way.

A Final Thought

Being a woman-owned business, these things put a beautiful bow to top off Women’s History Month for Mosaic People. I join you in celebrating the important women in your life. May we all leave a legacy of beauty and impact in our world.

Enjoy, friends!

Sabrina
