On March 2-3, 2020, a series of tornadoes ripped through Middle Tennessee. An EF3 tornado impacted Hermitage, destroying many homes and businesses in its path, including the then-current location of Magnitude 10.0 Gymnastics. The building was a total loss, and the family and community of Magnitude found themselves without a home, but not without hope. In the midst of destruction, founder and owner Maggie Thorpe-Nelson strengthened herself and set her resolve to get back up and face the hard road to rebuild and come back, together, stronger than before.
Salvaging fragments of life, memories, and past victories from the site, the pieces found their way into the hands of Sabrina Winter Shun, a Nashville area artist and founder of Mosaic People, whose heart is to tell personal stories of redemption through old and new world methods of artistry.
After gathering the pieces, the story emerged about the indomitable spirit of the athlete. Beauty out of ashes. Victory out of adversity.
As the pieces were carefully placed, she emerges from the wreckage, radiant and triumphant.
With the strength of a bull and the grace of royalty, she rises above the destruction, with victory on her wings.
Her resolve is set.
Her trajectory is upwards.
Her future is bright.
She. Is. Unstoppable.
